Tunisia will welcome Madagascar to Stade Olympique Hammadi Agrebi for an Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Qualification game from Group A on Thursday.
Comoros and Gambia complete the cluster, with the top two sides from each of the 12 groups to make it to the final tournament that will be hosted in Morocco.
Here, GOAL brings you everything you need to know about how to watch, including TV channel, streaming details and more.
Divided into 12 groups, these teams will battle it out in a series of exciting encounters, with 24 matches scheduled for the opening day.
The race will be tough as the top two finishers in the eleven (11) groups that do not involve tournament hosts Morocco, are set to gain qualification to the competition.
This is the start of the qualifiers to determine the 24 teams that will contest the 35th edition of Africa’s biggest sporting spectacle set to take place in the North African nation between 21 December and 18 January.
Here’s the full schedule for Day 1 of the AFCON 2025 Qualifiers (all times in GMT):
Algeria, having suffered a 2-1 defeat to Guinea in their first competitive match under Vladimir Petkovic, quickly rebounded with a 2-1 win over Uganda, as goals from Houssem Aouar and Said Benrahma secured the victory for the Fennec Foxes in the 2026 World Cup qualifying match.
The Northern Africans are now seeking to qualify for a seventh consecutive AFCON edition in a bid to clinch their third title, having won the second one in 2019.
Algeria's recent AFCON campaign was disappointing, as they failed to advance beyond the group stage for the second time in a row, picking up just two points from a group that included Angola, Burkina Faso and Mauritania.
Manager Petkovic will be hoping for a repeat of the team's success in the last two AFCON qualification campaigns, where they remained unbeaten.
Occurring every two years, the Africa Cup of Nations is always a premier international soccer event that draws significant viewership as teams across the CAF confederation look to hoist the prestigious title.
Nations must qualify for the finals, meaning that between the biannual event, teams are drawn into groups to contest qualifying matches through the coming international breaks.
Ivory Coast are defending champions of the event, having won on home soil earlier this year in the postponed 2023 event. Since Morocco are hosting the upcoming tournament, they have automatically qualified, but will still participate in the qualifying tournament anyways as a non-competitive participant, meaning their positioning is ignored for qualifying purposes.
